Introducing Vicky Law - Runtech's Marketing Manager

Tell us about yourself?

I was born in the West Midlands and moved to Guernsey in the Channel Islands at a young age. Growing up, I was always interested in Marketing. I’d help create adverts, design websites, and manage social media pages for part-time jobs I had as a teenager. This interest continued to grow, and I knew that was the career path I wanted to take.

My first full-time role was at one of The Big Four firms, where I was exposed to Marketing in a corporate setting. During my time there, I completed my Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing at CIM. After three and a half years, I knew I wanted to gain more technical knowledge which influenced my move to London. Moving a couple of months before COVID, this brought on a lot of uncertainty. I interviewed with Runtech during lockdown and they took me on with the responsibility of growing their brand. After two years in London, I moved back to Guernsey, still working remotely for Runtech.

What do you do in your spare time?

Towards the end of last year, I got a Labrador puppy called Lola. Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time training her and teaching her new tricks. We’ve definitely been taking advantage of Guernsey’s beaches and cliffs! I like to live an active lifestyle, so I go to the gym regularly and have also recently started boxing. Other than that, I have started drawing on Procreate, which has helped grow my creativity.

Tell us about your role

As the Marketing Manager at Runtech, I am responsible for developing and implementing our brand strategy. I manage the website, social media, content creation, advertising and marketing campaigns.

I’m lucky enough to work really closely with everyone in the business, especially the sales team. Working together, we conduct market research and create marketing strategies that help develop our growing customer base.

What’s been your favourite project?

Over the past three years, I have been involved in so many different types of projects.

One of my favourite projects has been working alongside Chris on a design consultancy project. The brief was to standardise our client’s AV/VC across their 42 global offices. My task was to create an interactive document that showed the local team an overview of what technology was needed in the different types of meeting rooms. After weeks of planning and designing, I was really pleased with how the document turned out!

More recently, I have also been redesigning our entire website with the purpose of improving the content and streamlining our brand identity. This has made such a big difference, and although I’ll still make tweaks along the way, the UX has improved massively.
