ABOUT huckletree
The home of innovation in the UK and Ireland
Huckletree opened its first shared workspace in Central London in 2014. Since then, they have supported over 5,000 members across their seven hubs in three locations. Their main presence is in London, with an additional Hub in Manchester and Dublin.
Huckletree is on a mission to build the most impactful and trusted workspace business in the world. They aim to create a positive impact for their members, community, and environment.
THE CLIENT'S BRIEF
Huckletree couldn’t ignore the surge in Web3 innovation and wanted to design a space specifically for ambitious brands and businesses in this sector. They identified a space to facilitate their vision in Central London with 22,000 sqft across two floors.
As the incumbent AV provider for the Huckletree estate, Runtech were instructed to design, supply, and install a BYOD VC solution for the latest addition to their growing group of venues. Runtech installed AV technology in their meeting rooms, event space, breakout areas and games rooms. Runtech worked alongside Modus Workspace, a leading office design and build company.
After understanding the vision and brief, Runtech worked towards Huckletree’s 1st March 2023 opening deadline.
The final solution
Meeting rooms
As each meeting room varied in size and capacity, the appropriate screen size was selected based on the optimal viewing distance. All screens chosen were Samsung Smart 4K Large format displays, with a mixture of 65”, 55” and 50” displays within six meeting rooms across two floors.
To fulfil Huckletree’s BYOD requirement, Barco Clickshare CX-30 was installed in each room. The Clickshare allows guests to present & collaborate straight from their laptops with enhanced security, perfect for a shared workspace environment. Additionally, each room has a Poly Studio USB video bar to facilitate video conferencing and to increase audio coverage in some of the larger meeting rooms, Poly Expansion Microphones were installed.
Event space
To provide flexibility in the event space, a 75” Samsung Commercial Display was installed onto a secure trolley with a display shelf housing a Logitech Rally Bar for Video Conferencing along with a Clickshare CX-50.
Audio
Three cornered audio Ci5-V speakers were installed horizontally and one vertically at ceiling level along the back wall and in the centre of the room on the fourth floor. An additional zone consisting of two QSC ceiling speakers and an Audac KYRA6 column speaker were hidden within the ceiling at the tea point area on the fifth floor. The sound system was designed in a way that it could be kept as discreet as possible to integrate with the simplistic yet feature-rich design aesthetic of the space. The speaker system has four audio channels, with one being via a Bluetooth connection for guests to connect when using the space for hired events with the remaining three channels made available for physical BGM connection. Additionally, we avoided any member interference by utilising only the manual controls via the amplifier for source selection and volume control. Runtech also provided a Chord Dual UHF microphone set intended for local users to present in the room which is connected to the in-room speaker system.
Digital Signage
Huckletree provided six Samsung displays in all different sizes which will display custom-made NFT (non-fungible token) digital art running via the Evexi Signage platform due to their unique alliance with Samsung. The cloud-based signage platform will allow Huckletree to control all the screens and deliver content straight to their screens. The last screen will be running ‘Huckletree signage’ via a Clickshare-10 and a Huckletree staff laptop.
On the fourth floor, the portrait-mounted 98” digital signage display catches your eye instantly as you enter the reception area, with the additional displays continuing to express the Huckletree brand identity of forward moving technology with futuristic content, fluidly as you make your way through the space. This experience continues throughout the fifth floor with three more NFT signage displays fixed with pivot-style mounts that give the ability to switch seamlessly between portrait and landscape orientation.
Games room
The two games rooms had a very similar set-up to the meeting rooms. Both rooms included a Samsung 50” display and a Clickshare C-10 for an option to present if the space is being used for informal meetings, and gaming consoles provided by Huckletree to enhance the member experience.
WHAT OUR CLIENT THINKS
Throughout the design and build phase of our new Web 3 & Digital Future Hub on Oxford Street, Runtech worked alongside us every step of the way from scoping the works to delivery of the Hub. The team did a fantastic job of managing the project and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with Runtech on this project.
A NOTE FROM OUR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
This was one of my favourite projects to work on this year as it was inspiring to be present during the design phase and work to keep the tech within the correct aesthetic for the brand. Huckletree are a wonderful team and I enjoy working with them so seeing their growth and being a part of new location renovations is great! This install in particular had a real variation of products due to the heavily consultative and custom nature of the requirement which also gave another interesting layer to the project.
