ABOUT WeWork
Innovative and safe serviced office spaces for the new world of work.
Founded in 2010, WeWork is an American commercial real estate company that provides shared workspaces for technology startups and services for other enterprises.
WeWork designs and builds physical and virtual shared spaces and office services for entrepreneurs and companies. With headquartered in New York City, WeWork is located in 120 cities around the world.
THE CLIENT'S BRIEF
WeWork appointed Runtech to design, supply and install Audio Visual and Data solutions for their buildings around the world. This included data infrastructure and connectivity services.
WeWork provided a clear direction to Runtech regarding their technology requirements and the remit was to follow guidelines that ensured consistency across the globe. The user experience must be consistent regardless of site location. It was also important to specify solutions that complemented the atmosphere and aesthetic of their co-working offices. This included background music, teaching classrooms/training rooms and bookable meeting rooms which varied in size. The meeting rooms offered their customers the ability to present and engage in video conference calls. Most sites also included event spaces. Runtech supplied a solution that offered wide audience presentation and speech re-enforcement for the event spaces. Digital signage solutions were implemented to ensure WeWork customers were informed of events, news and offered an element of wayfinding. The key to success was reliability, consistency and ease of use.
The final solution
WeWork has a number of offices around the world, and we were lucky to upgrade 80 offices in 11 different countries.
City locations we have upgraded:
- Amsterdam
- Barcelona
- Berlin
- Brussels
- Dublin
- Frankfurt
- Hamburg
- Johannesburg
- London
- Madrid
- Manchester
- Milan
- Moscow
- Munich
- Paris
- Warsaw
In the meeting rooms, we installed a range of 49″ – 65″ LG commercial displays. Crestron AirMedia Presentation solutions were implemented in each room, which offered wireless presenting using a laptop or mobile device. Video Conferencing was available using the Crestron Mercury and Logitech camera package.
For the background music and speech re-enforcement, Runtech installed Bose Freespace DS16F (pendant and flush) to be placed in the communal areas and restrooms. The sound system included Crown Amplifiers and QSC DSP and control.
For the events space, Runtech installed an NEC P502HL which is one of the smallest 5000 lumen installation laser projectors which offers high brightness and low power consumption. This was combined with an electric drop-down screen and Crestron input modules and control.
