Runtech replaced the existing projector and projection screens in both classrooms with a 75″ LG large format 4K flat-mounted display. The large classroom included a dual display and the smaller classroom a single 75” display. Two Logitech PTZ Pro cameras were implemented in each room, one at the front of the classroom facing local students, and one at the rear-facing the teacher and whiteboards. This allows the teacher to switch between cameras when on video conference calls facilitating remote learning. As requested, we kept a whiteboard on either side of the display for the small classroom and in between the displays in the large classroom.

The solution included a Nureva HDL300 Dual soundbar in the large classroom and a HDL300 in the smaller classroom. With Microphone Mist™ technology, these soundbars fill the entire room with virtual microphones for true full-room pickup. The conference bars also provide excellent media and conference audio playback. The university provided new room PC’s which included Zoom Pro licences. Any teacher can log in as themselves and engage with remote learning.

A new custom-built lectern by Turning Leaf was implemented in both classrooms to house AV hardware and accommodate a 22″ interactive touchscreen monitor. Teachers can therefore teach without the need to look back at the main displays, line up slides and control the presentation and VC conference. A lectern mounted Kramer control keypad allows teachers to easily turn the system on, select sources and adjust the volume. The Kramer system includes a 4 x 1 switcher, a scaler as well as a distribution amplifier.

The solution also allows for wireless presentation using Mersive Solstice, encouraging collaboration between students from their seats. Ultimately, the university wanted a solution that was simple to use for the various professors but offers reliability and quality.
